Ridden Hard and Put up Wet

Conditions: High 40’s and consistent rain, solid gloom

PAX: Joker, Ballcock, Coach K, Yo-Yo Ma, Urkel (QIC)

  • SSH IC x 25
  • TTT IC x 10
  • IW IC x 20

The Thang:

  • Mosey around the campus stopping at various locations for a workout
  • Draw a card from the F3 Workout Deck – this determines the exercise
  • Draw a second card from the F3 Workout Deck – this determines the number of reps
    • Number card = face value + 10
    • Face card = 25
    • Ace = 100
  • Some cards do not need a rep count so one card stands alone
  • Mosey to a new location and repeat until the deck is finished

  • Final Card – Ace of Core – 100 Flutter Kicks

COR, NOR, Announcements, Prayer: Completed in record time!

  • There were many suggestions for what to name this backblast. I chose Joker’s comment on Facebook. More on this to follow…
  • Coach K found the lack of cover on the Bluffton High School campus to be disturbing.
  • Great was the mumble chatter on this one, I attribute this to a few reasons
    1. Small number of PAX who know each other well
    2. Bad weather always increases mumble chatter
    3. My shorts have a cell phone pocket built into the waistband, this seemed like a good place to keep the deck. This gave the appearance of reaching into my pants to draw a card.
    4. There were a few suggestions as to what the security cameras might be recording
  • Some alternate ideas for a backblast title were
    • We are definitely going to jail (Coach K quote as we were doing Rosalita by the front doors of the school)
    • Four men and a minor child (My suggestion for the opening line of the article about our incarceration)
    • Let me check my crotch (Coach K’s response as I drew a card to check the number of reps)
    • I love the squishy in my shoes (Ballcock quote as we moseyed through very wet areas)
    • You can’t wash away memories (Ballcock’s response to my comment that I could wash the cards before their next use)
    • If your dad wants to play cards tonight, say no (Coach K’s advice to Yo-Yo)
  • Some things that are made much better by rain and very wet ground
    • Hand Release Merkins
    • LBC’s
    • Flutter Kicks
    • Jail Breaks
  • This was one that will not likely be forgotten, and we will definitely be seeing this deck again
  • No cards were lost in the completion of this workout!

Urkel Out!
